Privacy notice

What happens to a message you send through this site, in plain language.

Your message, and where it goes

When you send the contact form, three things travel: your name if you gave one, the email address or phone number you chose, and whatever you wrote. They’re delivered to me as an email — from your browser, through Cloudflare, which hosts this site, to Fastmail, which handles my mail. The website keeps no copy: nothing is written to a database, and no third-party form service ever sees it. I use what you send for one thing, which is replying to you.

What to leave out

The form is a fine place for everyday details. Please keep anything urgent or highly sensitive for after we’ve connected — email is ordinary mail, not a clinical channel. In a crisis, call 9-8-8, the Kids Help Phone at 1-800-668-6868, or 9-1-1 rather than writing here.

How long I keep it

Your message sits in my practice inbox like any other correspondence. If you’d like what you sent corrected or deleted, ask and I’ll do it.

Analytics

I use Google Analytics to see which pages are read and which links are tapped, so the site can get better at answering the questions parents actually have. It relies on cookies and collects technical details like device type and approximate location. It never sees what you type into the form. If you’d rather not be counted, blocking cookies for this site or turning on your browser’s tracking protection works fine.

Not a clinical record

Nothing you send through this website becomes part of a clinical record. If we begin working together, records are kept separately, under my obligations as a Registered Clinical Counsellor and BC’s Personal Information Protection Act.
